Our bead prayer this past Sunday had us focusing on "hallowing."
To name something as hallowed--as God did the day of rest at the conclusion of six days of creating in Genesis 2--is to set it apart, to mark it as holy. To worship something is to note that it is worthy of praise.
Prayer can be tricky for many of us. We're not sure to whom (or what) we are praying, or what the purpose or intended outcome is. When this happens, it can be helpful to begin by simply paying attention to what is around us or on our minds and hearts, and name it as hallowed.
Hallowed be the sunshine.
Hallowed be the neighbor who is sick.
Hallowed be the hummingbird.
Hallowed be the breath.
Hallowed be the hungry.
What would you name as hallowed right now?
