Singers are looking for one night home stay opportunity after the concert. Two or more teens per home, or one or more adults per home. Contact Amy for details.
What a wonderful way to connect with young people this summer.
The teens are ages 12-19. They are hosted in groups of at least two. Many of the teens are comfortable sharing a bed, so they do not need their own beds, even couches are fine, and they have sleeping bags if needed. Village harmony also travels with a few air mattresses so that is an option as well. The host families are asked to bring a potluck dish to be shared before the concert on the night of the 23rd, bring the teens home with them (VH can provide transport if needed), give them breakfast in the morning and, if they are able, to provide transportation back to the church in the morning (again, someone can pick them up if needed). We would need to know about any pets in the home, in case of any allergies among the teens. If someone would like to host, but doesn’t have room for 2, the adult leaders also need host families and can go as one single person. In that case Village Harmony does ask that they have a private room, as opposed to a couch.
Occasionally there is a family who has a house to offer, but they themselves are not there. In those circumstances, one of the adults from the group would accompany the teens housed in that situation.
The specific info we would need from the host families is:
Host name; address; how many can they take and what beds (or couches) are available or needed; are sleeping bags needed, are host available to provide transportation.
Village Harmony is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) educational organization dedicated to the study, performance and celebration of diverse styles of traditional choral music. Working with an international team of culture-bearing musicians we provide a wide range of educational and performance opportunities for amateur musicians around the world. Our aim is to promote cultural awareness and community through direct and ethical cultural exchange.
Village Harmony runs camps just for teenagers, alumni trips for older teens & young adults, residential weeks primarily for adults and international camps for mixed age groups. Each camp session is headed by a trio of music leaders fluent in a wide range of traditions and highly experienced as teachers. Our no-holds barred attitude toward what is possible has resulted in ensembles whose sound remains dynamic, unpredictable, and absolutely exciting year after year. With their clear command of radically-varied singing styles and infectiously joyous stage presence, Village Harmony ensembles always knock people’s socks off.
